Full job description
Sika is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support the shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory functions at our Benicia, California production facility. This role is critical to ensuring smooth day-to-day logistics operations by maintaining accurate records, supporting inventory management, coordinating shipments, and providing SAP system support.
As part of site team, this position requires flexibility and a willingness to support activities across Logistics, Production, and Quality as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company housekeeping standards. Actively participate in and support the site's Sika SAFE Program and all safety initiatives.
- Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities to meet operational deadlines.
- Communicate with internal departments, carriers, vendors, and customers regarding shipment schedules, pickups, deliveries, and issue resolution.
- Prepare shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
- Support warehouse and plant operations to ensure inbound and outbound deadlines are achieved.
- Process and complete shipment transactions in SAP accurately and on time.
- Receive raw materials, packaging supplies, and traded goods into SAP inventory.
- Provide SAP support to warehouse personnel, including label printing, document preparation, discrepancy research, and transaction troubleshooting.
- Assist leadership with inventory control activities, including cycle counts, inventory verification, and reporting.
- Maintain organized warehouse and logistics records.
- Participate in cross-functional plant activities and special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience working with inventory or logistics systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid mathematical skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational and process-related issues.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overtime when business needs require.
- Ability to perform heavy physical work in a manufacturing environment.
- Frequently move throughout the plant and warehouse.
- Occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 50 pounds of force.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment after training.
Preferred
- SAP experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution setting.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
