You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Below are your options.
How to delete your account
You can delete your Jobeezy account and all associated data at any time. We offer two methods for account deletion:
Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open the Jobeezy app on your phone.
- Tap Settings (bottom-right of the screen).
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation prompt, then tap Confirm delete.
Your account is queued for deletion immediately. The 30-day grace period begins (see below).
Option 2 — Email request (if you cannot access the app)
Send an email to privacy@jobeezy.com with the word DELETE in the subject line.
Include the email address you registered with in the body of the email so we can locate your account.
We will verify your identity and confirm deletion within 7 business days.
What data is deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:
- Account information: Email address, name, phone number, and authentication credentials
- Profile data: Target job roles, skills, location preferences, salary expectations, career goals, work authorization status, education level
- Resume data: Resume file and extracted text, tailored resumes, cover letters
- Background information: Background type, employment gaps, informal experience, program completions, criminal record status, Ban-the-Box state, character references
- EEOC self-identification: Gender, ethnicity, race, veteran status, disability status (if provided)
- Application data: Job applications submitted, tailored materials, interview prep answers, salary negotiation session data, outcome tracking
- Preferences: All user settings and preferences
What happens to pending applications
If you have pending job applications at the time of deletion:
- Already submitted: Applications already submitted to employers cannot be recalled. The employer will continue to process them according to their own policies.
- Pending submission: Applications queued for submission but not yet sent will be cancelled and not submitted.
- Employer data: Once your application is submitted to an employer, they may retain your data according to their own privacy policies and applicable employment laws. We have no control over employer data retention.
Deletion timeline
- 30-day grace period: After you request deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this time, you can reactivate your account by simply logging in again. Your data remains accessible during this window.
- Permanent deletion: After the 30-day grace period, all account data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our primary systems (DynamoDB, S3, Cognito).
- Analytics and logs: Anonymized analytics events (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry) are purged upon request. Some anonymized aggregate statistics may be retained for up to 26 months for product improvement, but these cannot be linked back to you after deletion.
- Backups: Encrypted backups are rotated within 90 days of account deletion. After 90 days, no recoverable data remains in backup systems.
Data export before deletion
Before deleting your account, you may want to export your data. To request a data export:
- Send an email to privacy@jobeezy.com with the subject line DATA EXPORT.
- We will provide your data in a machine-readable format (JSON) within 30 days.
- This includes your profile, resume, application history, and all other personal data.
Your privacy rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correct: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Delete: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service
- Object: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes
- Restrict: Request restriction of processing of your data
GDPR Rights (European Residents)
If you are a resident of the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right to be informed about how we use your data
- Right to access your personal data
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data

CCPA/CPRA Rights (California Residents)

Can I recover my account after deletion?
During the 30-day grace period, yes — simply log in again to reactivate. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
What happens to my data with employers?
Once we submit your application to an employer, they receive your resume and application materials. Employers may retain this data according to their own privacy policies and applicable employment laws. We cannot control or delete data that has already been shared with employers.
Will deleting my account stop all emails?
Yes, once your account is deleted, you will no longer receive transactional or marketing emails from Jobeezy.
How long does deletion take?
The deletion process begins immediately upon your request. After the 30-day grace period, complete deletion typically occurs within 24-48 hours. Backups are rotated within 90 days.
Can I delete just my data but keep my account?
No, account deletion is an all-or-nothing process. If you want to remove specific data (like your resume) while keeping your account, please contact us at privacy@jobeezy.com to discuss your options.
