Job Description
Wilsonart in Temple, Texas has an opening for Facilities Maintenance Technician
The Temple Maintenance department currently has an opening for a Facilities Maintenance Technician for Wilsonart Temple. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, functionality, and safety of company facilities, offices, and grounds. This role performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, and construction-related tasks including carpentry, painting, flooring, roofing, concrete repair, office setup, and facility improvements. The position also coordinates and monitors outside contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards. Perform other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform minor roof repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Repair and replace damaged flooring, tiles, and related materials.
- Replace ceiling tiles as needed throughout facilities.
- Complete miscellaneous carpentry projects including framing, shelving, cabinetry, and office modifications.
- Perform painting and touch-up projects throughout manufacturing facilities and office areas.
- Conduct minor concrete repairs on sidewalks, curbs, walkways, and facility structures.
- Repair and maintain restroom fixtures including toilet seats, paper towel dispensers, soap dispensers, and related accessories.
- Repair potholes and perform minor maintenance on driveways and parking lots.
- Assist with facility appearance projects to maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform minor exterior repairs and upkeep as needed.
- Monitor and coordinate contractors performing roofing, flooring, remodeling, and facility improvement projects.
- Verify contractor work is completed according to project specifications, quality standards, and safety
- requirements.
- Communicate project status and facility needs to management.
- Assist in planning and executing facility improvement initiatives.
- Participate in safety audits and corrective action activities as needed.
- Provide general labor support such as material handling, cleanup, and tool operation.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE: 1 Year of Facilities Maintenance required-construction, masonry, mechanical and plumbing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy work. Tasks involve pushing / pulling, lifting, and handling material up to 100 pounds plus standing and walking during a minimum of an 8 hour shift.
ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
