Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Fairfax Assembly, Kansas on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of HR/LR Professionals at the Fairfax Assembly Plant - including managing workload, balancing priorities, and ensuring deliverables are on time and with quality in accordance with applicable laws, collective agreements, and workplace policies.
  • Champion projects that support key HR/LR objectives in function and country.
  • Partner with People Leaders in driving GM culture, promoting positive employee experiences, and improving employee engagement/inclusion.
  • Strategic administration of the collective agreements while promoting collaborative problem-solving.
  • Provide development to HR/LR Team.
  • Participate in HRM and Talent Forum discussions within HR Function.
  • Ensure that local policies, procedures, legislations and regulations are administered appropriately in accordance with country and functional direction.
  • Provide regional communications on HR/LR initiatives, process changes, and improvements that impact all employees.
  • Ensure appropriate support to the business in regard Human Capital Plans implementation.
  • Support enterprise-initiatives, including Talent Spotting, Workplace of Choice, and Compensation Programs.
  • Support processes on employee life cycle from hire to exit.
  • Provide guidance on day-to-day issues and function as an escalation point for complicated HR/LR issues.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to maintain in-depth knowledge of employment requirements related to management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with legal departments as needed/required.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience, with a focus on HR and Labor Relations
  • Bachelor's Degree required, ideally in a related field; Master's Degree preferred
  • Prior experience managing a team, with expertise in performance management, supporting and coaching team members through times of change
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders, including unions
  • Global company experience
  • Flexible to provide support outside of normal working hours as needed
