A Day in the Life
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer provides technical leadership and daily manufacturing support for multiple product families within the Stapling product portfolio. This role focuses on maintaining and improving product quality, optimizing product cost, and advancing manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The engineer will partner with cross‐functional teams to support production, lead root cause investigations, qualify components, and implement process improvements. In addition, the role drives project execution and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and manufacturing performance.

- Support in-service operating systems to ensure continued operation and maintenance and optimization throughout.
- Determine, select and implement technically feasible and economically viable alternatives for sustainment.
- Analyze and evaluate how to improve a system and/or equipment's sustainability under continued operation, maintenance and unexpected change.
- Develop design changes to resolve operational issues, introduce new materials and revises product, process and test specifications to enhance product quality, design integrity, reliability and manufacturability.
- Collect and evaluate service use and maintenance data; conduct root-cause analyses of in-service problems (e.g., operational hazards, deficiency reports, parts obsolescence, corrosion effects, reliability and maintainability trends, safety hazards, and failure causes and effects) and implement corrective action.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science or Technical field and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in Engineering, Science or Technical field with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience.
Nice to Have
Knowledge/Experience with:
- ERP (BPCS) system
- Agile software for change development / change management processes
- Automated / semi-automated inspection systems (Cognex, Keyence)
- Automated / semi-automated assembly processes
- Manufacturing processes (stamping, machining, metal injection molding, plastic injection molding)
- Continuous improvement, process control, GD&T
Requires:
- Engineering degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
- Background in manufacturing, designing efficient and productive layout of machines and process
