Full job description
The successful candidate will serve as a Senior Automation Developer reporting to the Public Safety IT Services Division. Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate of patching Public Safety 911 endpoints via TrueSight Server Automation.
- Coordinate and patch critical call taker positions with BMC Client Management.
- Support Public Safety 911 enterprise monitoring environment which comprises multiple tools such as, TrueSight Server Automation, TrueSight Network Automation, BMC discovery and BMC Client management.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents; implement appropriate corrective actions for known errors;
- Oversee the administration, maintenance and upkeep of the TrueSight and discovery environment;
- Handle the deployment and configuration of the TrueSight suite of products and BMC discovery for the entire PSAC infrastructure.
- Assist in system configuration, baseline, governance, and compliance across the board.
- Work hand to hand with security to address vulnerabilities and concerns on systems and respond to zero-day vulnerabilities.
- Capable of packaging and automating silent install of applications which include executables, MSIs, Transforms, etc.
- Standardize endpoints and provide OS Deployment / Barebone provisioning process for new builds.
- Standardize and automate the Discovery /configuration of assets by implementing TPL patterns.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents; implement appropriate corrective actions for known errors; troubleshoot performance issues; integrate and understand event streams into ScienceLogic which is PSAC event manager.
- Track ongoing status of any incident and their corresponding problem record to ensure that identified problems are addressed and resolved;
- Respond to and closely coordinate incident resolution and ongoing resolution status of all support requests for infrastructure monitoring team;
- Follow ITIL standards and Public Safety own policies; work closely with peer teams such as VM, Windows and Unix support to provide a holistic solution for users and agencies: ensure devices are discovered and also removed from the topology models;
- Manage ticket creation and/or relationships for root cause and symptomatic events; and
- Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.

- A baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering or a related field from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure; or
- Eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure;
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
