ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Sensor Integration Engineer II, you'll own the setup, configuration, testing, and validation of the advanced camera and sensor systems at the heart of LVT's hardware portfolio. You'll lead qualification across diverse sensor types—PTZ cameras, radar, thermal detection, and field-of-view analysis—building the test plans and QA processes that guarantee every unit performs in the field. Your work directly shapes product reliability for customers and defines how LVT scales sensor validation across manufacturing and deployment.
LVT is a flexible-first company, but this is an in-office role based in our American Fork, Utah facility, where you'll collaborate hands-on with Hardware Engineering, Product Engineering, and Quality teams.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the end-to-end setup, configuration, and integration of camera and sensor systems—including PTZ, thermal, and radar—across LVT's hardware platforms.
- Lead hands-on testing and qualification of sensors to ensure performance standards hold across operational conditions, troubleshooting failures and documenting root causes.
- Build and execute structured QA processes, including comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases that scale across products and firmware revisions.
- Validate camera performance in real-world conditions—field of view, image quality, detection range, and night performance—and translate findings into actionable engineering feedback.
- Mentor junior technicians on camera configuration, testing methodology, and technical problem-solving.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, PQE, Operations) to move products through development and into production, managing integration timelines and resolving sensor-level blockers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including test automation opportunities, validation tooling, and refinement of qualification standards.
- Maintain sensor configuration databases, test records, and validation archives that support long-term product evolution and institutional knowledge.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Camera Setup & Integration: Deep hands-on experience setting up, configuring, and commissioning IP camera systems—ideally as an integrator deploying and tuning cameras on customer sites.
- QA Testing Background: Proven experience within quality assurance processes—building test plans, writing test cases, executing structured test cycles, and documenting results.
- Sensor Systems Depth: Working knowledge of physical security sensor technologies—PTZ, thermal, radar—and the network, firmware, and configuration layers that make them perform.
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause: Strong system-level troubleshooting instincts across hardware, firmware, and network layers, with a disciplined approach to isolating and documenting failures.
- Documentation & Process Ownership: Meticulous attention to detail and a track record of creating clear, usable test procedures, configuration guides, and validation documentation that scale across teams.
- Technical Leadership: Ability to mentor teammates, establish best practices, and drive adoption of standardized testing and configuration processes.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Comfort working through ambiguity, prototyping novel validation approaches, and iterating rapidly when field conditions don't match the lab.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or 5+ years of hands-on experience in security system integration, camera commissioning, or hardware QA with equivalent technical depth.
