We are looking for a passionate Regional Director to join our Manhattan BBYO team and make a difference. As a Regional Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in growing membership, training regional and chapter teen leaders, deepening support for BBYO in the Manhattan community, and leading organization-wide initiatives that produce meaningful, Jewish experiences for Jewish teens. Alongside your team, you’ll connect in a dynamic environment and create a positive impact on teens, our community, and the world.
SHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF
As a Regional Director, a typical day will include:
- Developing regional vision and strategy to drive membership growth, strengthen chapters, and expand BBYO's impact across Manhattan & the Bronx
- Expanding BBYO's presence across New York City by cultivating community partnerships and leading collaborative events and city-wide initiatives
- Planning and executing high-impact programs, community initiatives, and two annual overnight conventions from start to finish
- Building a strong and connected BBYO community by fostering belonging, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful opportunities for teens, advisors, and families to engage
- Coaching teen leaders through conflict resolution, democratic leadership, and project management to expand membership, deepen engagement, and strengthen leadership pipelines
- Recruiting, training, placing, and supporting volunteer advisors through ongoing guidance, supervision, and appreciation
- Attending summer camp (but this time you’re in charge!) as you lead teen leadership programs
- Empowering and inspiring staff, teens, volunteers and advisors through your mentorship, coaching and training
ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR MAKING A LASTING IMPACT
Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation to drive positive change. Additionally, as a Regional Director, these skills are key to success:
- Abilities: Experience working with youth or teens is preferred; ability to manage event logistics and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as needed
- Experience: 3-5 years of professional work experience, preferably in youth development, community building, education, nonprofit, or related fields
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher
- Location: Must reside in Manhattan or be willing to relocate to Manhattan
REQUIREMENTS
- Attend all regional conventions and major events including Staff Conference, and International Convention each year.
- Ability to travel as needed and to staff a summer leadership program for 2-3 weeks during summer
