Full job description

  • Learn and operate complex integrated liquid-handling platforms that support small-scale 24-well and 96-well antibody purification, automated expression, protein quantification, and buffer exchange workflows.
  • Prepare, qualify, and validate reagents; accurately document run information; and troubleshoot biological, technical, or process-related issues.
  • Maintain mammalian cell lines through routine culture activities, including culture expansion, cell harvesting, cryopreservation, and aseptic handling.
  • Support high-throughput mammalian cell-based protein expression and related sample-processing activities.
  • Maintain laboratory reagent and consumable inventories and coordinate ordering as needed.
  • Contribute to workflow optimization and continuous-improvement efforts in collaboration with scientific colleagues, automation partners, and equipment vendors.
  • Assist with the operation and routine care of automated tissue-culture systems, as assigned.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in antibody discovery, protein engineering, protein purification, and related scientific functions.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely experimental records in accordance with applicable procedures and good documentation practices.
  • Follow established safety requirements, laboratory procedures, and standard operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related biological sciences field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant academic, internship, or industry laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the flexibility to adjust priorities in a dynamic research environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, systems, protocols, and scientific workflows quickly.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, work-planning, organizational, data-analysis, and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of protein expression, protein purification, transfection, or buffer-exchange techniques.
  • Experience with common laboratory automation equipment, such as Biomek liquid handlers, reagent dispensers, or integrated automation systems.
  • Experience operating automated tissue-culture platforms.
  • Experience with flow cytometry.
  • Familiarity with antibody discovery, protein engineering, or early-stage drug discovery workflows.
  • Master's degree in a relevant biological sciences field.
