About Harbinger

Job Overview

The Systems Engineering team is seeking a versatile Systems Engineer to own the end-to-end definition, integration, and architecture of ADAS features, teleoperation systems for remotely operated military/tactical vehicles, and core Electric Vehicle (EV) platform architectures.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between autonomous perception, remote command tele operation, and high-voltage EV powertrains. You will lead the systems engineering lifecycle from defining customer use cases and sensor/communication architectures to managing Functional Safety (ISO 26262), cybersecurity, and vehicle-level validation across all Harbinger platforms.

What you will do:

  • Define and adapt high-level requirements and use cases for core ADAS features for Harbinger vehicles to support military and teleoperation vehicles.
  • Develop logical and physical system architectures showing interactions between sensors, controllers and physical systems.
  • Architect robust, low-latency teleoperation pipelines for remotely operated military and dual-use vehicles, including video streaming, remote steering/throttling, and operator control unit (OCU) interfaces.
  • Define fail-safe and fail-operational fallback modes for teleoperation links during signal degradation, electronic countermeasures, or network latency spikes.
  • Lead Functional Safety and Cybersecurity analysis and work product creation at the concept and system level for relevant functions.
  • Decompose vehicle-level requirements and the PDL into  system, component and interface requirements using our requirement management tool, Flow Engineering.
  • Define the DVP&R (Design Verification Plan) for ADAS features.
  • Oversee testing from SIL to HIL and proving ground track testing.
  • Analyze test data to fine tune sensitivity thresholds and calibrations to balance safety and false positive detection and remote link stability.

Who you are

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or other relevant educational credential.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink control logic.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to ADAS and teleoperated/unmanned ground vehicles
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a dynamic team environment
