JOB OVERVIEW:

Come join our Law Firm specialty team!

We're looking for an experienced Broker / Account Executive to join the team, focused on client servicing & marketing (NOTE: This is not a sales/production role). The Broker’s main functions are to provide day-to-day customer services, including completing ad hoc projects as needed, responding to client questions, providing insurance program design and risk-related consulting advice, and negotiating and implementing clients’ insurance programs. Brokers communicate frequently with clients and provide day-to-day supervision over the coordination and execution of all facets of both the account service plan and routine transactions. In all areas, it is expected that the Broker will actively seek to cultivate, improve and cement a positive client relationship and use any of EPIC’s resources necessary in performing these functions.

LOCATION: Hybrid - 3 days a week in our downtown Chicago IL office

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • REQUIRED: Current experience servicing and marketing accounts for law firm groups (at least 7+ years of insurance industry experience is required, which can be a mix of law firm & non-law firm group work).
  • Candidates with strong, professional communication skills – both written and verbal. Ideal candidates can successfully pivot between providing detailed and accurate written communication, as well as picking up the phone and having a detailed verbal conversation with clients or internal stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, and the ability to learn and understand software systems quickly.
  • Candidates who adapt well to priority changes, deadlines, and who love problem solving and coming up with solutions and answers to client questions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

A detailed list of job duties includes (but is not limited to):

  • Support team by helping lead new business opportunity efforts and existing client renewals
  • Prepare and present renewal results to clients
  • Review documents for client pre-renewal and renewal meetings prepared by the Account Specialist
  • Coordinate all pre-renewal work completed by other team members such as the renewal planning information prepared by the Account Specialist
  • Execute agreed upon strategy established at the pre-renewal meeting and brokering of renewals, including:
  • Manage the timeline established during the pre-renewal meeting
  • Send submission with coverage specifications
  • Negotiate options with underwriters and key wholesaler partners (in the US, London and Bermuda)
  • Negotiate coverage enhancements and review quotes
  • Broker Casualty and Property lines of coverage (GL, BOP, Workers Comp., Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, Umbrella), including group captives.
  • Confirm compliance or exceptions to requested coverage
  • Complete and/or review renewal report (including coverage and rating analysis and other benchmarking and analytical functions)
  • Participate in meeting to present renewal terms/options to the client
  • Sign off on renewal billing and monitor endorsement requests and policy delivery to clients; oversee completion and delivery of clients’ post-binding documentation
  • In coordination with the Account Specialist and Associate Broker, review all renewal documents including: Binders, Confirmation of Coverage, Certificates of Insurance, Insurance program chart, Sagitta and ImageRight input, and Master Certificates, including endorsements
  • Broker is responsible for maintaining all files and electronic records per company policy.
  • In coordination with Account Specialist, collect all policies and review findings after ReSourcePro has completed the review of the policies.
  • Build strong relationships with underwriters and clients.
  • Handle day-to-day client services including but not limited to:
  • Handle and document mid-term requests such as policy endorsements
  • Provide risk review of contracts - insurance only v. indemnity v. full contract review
  • Answer coverage questions
  • Perform client training on a periodic or as-needed basis
  • Document customer service transactions including, but not limited to, phone conversations and the processing of daily work
  • Handle material change transactions such as merger, acquisition, dissolution, as needed
  • Use EPIC credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments
  • Actively participate in and support EPIC Law Firm Group training endeavors
  • Provide miscellaneous risk-related services as needed
