Job Description

The receptionist serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately
  • Check patient into the electronic medical record
  • Ensure patient packet questionnaire is complete, if not assist patient in completing
  • Address patients questions or needs
  • Review M.D. visit orders to manage and expedite ordered care (e.g., referrals, follow up visits, DME orders, test orders and medication orders)
  • Print paperwork for patient education and/or test instructions
  • Check patient out of the electronic medical record at completion of visit
  • Supports goals of department/organization. Works as a team player by enhancing team effectiveness, supporting, and assisting team members, the department and/or the organization

Other Functions:

  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Job Description:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)

Experience

  • One(1) year healthcare experience (preferred)

Job Competency:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities critical to this role:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must understand and be able to perform professional phone etiquette

Language Ability:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats

Reasoning Ability:
