Job Title: Tour Director - Eclipse Drum and Bugle Corps

Job Type: Part-Time

Location: Midwest, USA (Hybrid)

Salary Range: $7.50 - $10.00

Reports To: Corps Director - Eclipse Drum and Bugle Corps

P4

Note: Roles are posted at the lowest level of a band, however, employees should search across all levels of the band to identify all opportunities. Employees hired on banded positions (ex: E1-E3, O1-O2, etc.) transfer at their current level, despite the level indicated on the job posting. For example, if an E2 candidate is selected for an E1-E3 banded position, the candidate will remain an E2 in the new role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all logistical aspects of corps tour operations, including transportation, housing, and meal coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between corps staff, performers, and host facilities during tour
  • Coordinate with Drum Corps International (DCI) event staff and competition hosts at each tour stop
  • Supervise tour staff and volunteers, delegating responsibilities to ensure smooth operations
  • Monitor and manage tour budget, tracking expenses and reporting to corps leadership
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, corps policies, and participant welfare standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-tour issues quickly and effectively to minimize disruption to the corps

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in tour management, event coordination, or marching arts administration
  • Management and office environment experience
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Pass a background check (driving position will require a MV check)
  • Strong knowledge of Drum Corps International (DCI) operations and competitive season structure
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills in high-pressure environments
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing teams of staff and volunteers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across diverse groups of people
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the summer competitive season
  • Budget management experience and fiscal responsibility
  • Valid driver's license; CDL or experience with large vehicle/fleet coordination a plus
  • Must not be eligible to march in DCI as a participant.

Additional Details:

  • Flexible schedule allowed; one senior administrator must be on-site at all times.
  • Overtime and weekend work will be required in the summer.
  • Work will be done in varying conditions.
  • The position requires one weekend of availability between November - May.
  • June - August requires multiple weeks or sequential days of availability.
