Associate Manager, New Verticals - Consumer Pricing & Affordability at Doordashusa — New York, AZ
Full job description
## About the Team
New Verticals launched in 2020 to take the DoorDash marketplace beyond restaurants: it now spans 100,000+ grocery, convenience, alcohol, retail, and DashMart stores and has made DoorDash the #1 third-party marketplace for grocery and retail in the US.
Within New Verticals, the Consumer Strategy & Operations team focuses on building consumer growth levers through many different outlets. The Pricing & Affordability team is redefining what value means in delivery. Our mission is to make DoorDash the smartest, most affordable place to shop. The pricing, fee, and savings systems we build are a big part of why customers choose DoorDash and stay. We're building toward a future where every customer feels DoorDash is worth it on every order. Getting there takes sharp, quantitative thinking about how we price and where we invest.
## About the Role
As an Associate Manager, you'll be the core owner behind our pricing strategy and how to use pricing as a growth lever with a focus on fee structure and affordability. Working closely with Finance, Analytics, and Product, you'll build pricing models, forecast consumer and financial impacts, design A/B tests, and launch new fee structures. It's a high-visibility seat at the intersection of strategy, operations, and finance - your analyses will inform decisions that reach millions of customers.
The best operators today are rapidly generating new ideas, taking ownership over metrics and moving them in the right direction through building product visions, synthesizing complex analyses and testing every idea — all while leveraging AI to uplevel how we operate. We expect this person to stay at the forefront of how AI is reshaping the work, actively exploring new tools, automating repetitive workflows, and finding ways to do in hours what used to take weeks. This is an individual contributor role reporting into a Senior Manager on the New Verticals Affordability team within the broader New Verticals Consumer organization.
- Analyze. Run SQL queries and build Excel models to quantify the consumer, operational, and financial tradeoffs of fee changes, leveraging AI tools like Claude & Cursor to automate and move faster.
- Build with AI. You'll use AI tools to automate manual processes, build new prototypes and develop product visions. You'll be expected to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI in your day-to-day work, and share what you learn with the team.
- Forecast. Partner with Finance to project how pricing decisions will play out, and track actuals against those projections once programs are live.
- Experiment. Work with Analytics to design A/B tests across markets and verticals, and translate the results into crisp read-outs and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Operate and Collaborate. Own the metrics and dashboards for your programs, sharing with partners across the New Verticals organization.
## We’re excited about you because...
- You have 4-6+ years of success in highly analytical roles: investment banking, corporate FP&A, management consulting, corporate strategy, or business operations.
- You're energized by AI tools — and you actively experiment with them. You don't wait to be told how to use a new tool; you’re already exploring tools like Claude, Cursor, Gemini and more. You bring a builder's mindset to AI: using it to automate the repetitive, accelerate the analytical, and unlock work that would otherwise require a larger team. You're comfortable with a role whose scope will continue to shift as AI becomes more capable, and you see that as an opportunity rather than a threat.
- You enjoy ambiguity. You break messy, open-ended problems down from first principles and turn them into clear plans, taking responsibility for moving things forward.
- You are analytical. You thrive on analytical tasks, building models and forecasts from scratch.
- You have a completed Bachelor's Degree, MBA a plus.
