You already know how to lead. We'll teach you the diamonds.

Braswell & Son has been family owned since 1979. We started as one small jewelry store in Little Rock and grew into eight luxury pawn stores across Arkansas and Tennessee. We are still growing, and we promote from within whenever we can.

That's the whole reason this job exists. We need our next Store Managers, and we'd rather build them than borrow them.

Manager in Training is a real job with a real paycheck — not an unpaid audition. You'll be paid hourly from day one, earn commission and spiff like everyone else on the floor, and follow a structured path toward Assistant Store Manager and then Store Manager.

Who we're looking for

You've led people for at least three years. Maybe that was a retail floor, a restaurant, a bank branch, a warehouse crew, a call center, a hotel, or a squad in the military. The industry doesn't matter to us. What matters is that you've actually done these things:

• Coached someone into being better at their job. Not just told them what to do — got them there.

• Owned a number and hit it. Sales, service scores, shrink, throughput, something you were on the hook for every week.

• Documented performance. You've written the coaching note, delivered the hard conversation, and kept the record.

• Grown something. A shift, a department, a territory, a store. You left it better than you found it.

You do not need pawn or jewelry experience. We will teach you all of it.

What you'll be learning

Luxury pawn is a genuinely interesting business, and most people have never seen the inside of it. Over your training you'll learn to:

  • Test gold, grade diamonds, authenticate designer handbags, and spot a real Rolex from a good fake.
  • Write quality pawn loans and make sound forfeit decisions that protect the store's profit.
  • Coach selling behaviors on the floor and pawn process in the back room.
  • Read a daily report and a monthly P&L, and understand what actually moves them.
  • Build a schedule that balances coverage, payroll, and giving people room to grow.
  • Run opening, closing, cash handling, and store security as a key carrier.
  • Plan store events and show up for the community we serve.

What you'll actually do while you learn

This isn't a shadowing program. You'll be on the floor with customers from your first week, carrying goals, and stepping into leadership as you're ready. By the end, you should be able to run the store on a day the Store Manager isn't there.

Pay

• Base: $18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Paid weekly by direct deposit.

• Commission on eligible sales in any week you hit your sales goal.

• Weekly productivity spiff when you hit your productivity goal.

  • Health / dental / vision / PTO / 401(k) / Employee Discount / Gym Membership / Tuition Reimbursement

This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Hours over 40 in a week are paid at time and a half.

Why people stay here

• Family owned, 47 years, still growing. We're opening stores, not closing them.

• A paycheck every Friday. Not twice a month. Every Friday.

• We promote from within. Our managers came up through these stores.

• Small teams. You'll know everyone you work with, and they'll know you.

• We show up for each other and for our community. That's not a poster on the wall — ask us about it in the interview.

What the job requires

  • Three or more years of leadership experience — supervisor, team lead, keyholder, shift manager, or comparable
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen that meets our standards and applicable law
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to Little Rock, AR for scheduled training
  • Able to stand and move for extended periods, and lift and move merchandise, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Spanish/English bilingual is a plus, not a requirement
