Cook – Amerisports
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our culinary team at Amerisports. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and snacks in a fast-paced sports venue environment. You will work collaboratively with kitchen staff to deliver exceptional food service while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Monitor food inventory and communicate with management regarding stock levels and ordering needs
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely food preparation during peak service periods
- Inspect food quality and ensure all dishes meet company standards before service
- Follow all health codes, safety protocols, and company policies
- Assist with menu planning and suggest improvements to existing recipes and food offerings
- Support other kitchen staff members as needed to maintain smooth operations
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of cooking experience in a food service environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent portion sizes and presentation standards
- Proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment and tools
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a sports venue, catering, or institutional food service setting
- Knowledge of inventory management and food ordering systems
- Culinary training or certification from an accredited program
- Experience with menu planning and recipe development
- Bilingual capabilities (English and Spanish)
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and special events
