# Epic Ambulatory Project Manager

## Job Summary

The Epic Ambulatory Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and delivering Epic Ambulatory implementation, optimization, upgrade, and support projects. This role serves as the primary liaison between clinical operations, IT, Epic application teams, and executive leadership to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while supporting organizational strategic goals.

The Project Manager oversees project planning, resource coordination, risk management, stakeholder communication, and vendor collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

## Key Responsibilities

### Project Leadership

  • Lead Epic Ambulatory implementation and optimization projects from initiation through go-live and stabilization.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Facilitate project governance meetings and executive status reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and organizational standards.

### Epic Ambulatory Implementation

  • Coordinate Epic Ambulatory build, testing, training, deployment, and post-go-live activities.
  • Collaborate with Epic-certified analysts, application teams, clinicians, and operational leaders.
  • Support workflow redesign and optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate integrated testing with ancillary applications and third-party systems.
  • Ensure successful deployment across physician practices and ambulatory clinics.

### Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with physicians, nursing leadership, clinical staff, IT leadership, and executive sponsors.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate decision-making among cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage expectations throughout project execution.

### Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate critical issues appropriately.
  • Track dependencies across multiple Epic applications.
  • Maintain issue logs and project documentation.

### Financial & Resource Management

  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures.
  • Coordinate internal and external project resources.
  • Manage vendor relationships and consulting engagements.
  • Ensure effective utilization of project team members.

### Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure project deliverables meet organizational quality standards.
  • Support regulatory and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain project documentation consistent with PMO standards.
  • Coordinate change management activities.

Hourly range: $85--$95. The hourly range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
