Full job description

The Client Relations Team Specialist serves as a dedicated resource to clients, providing prompt, efficient, and high-quality service across all day-to-day account needs. This role manages a broad scope of client service activities — from responding to coverage questions and remarketing accounts to supporting new business — within a collaborative, fast-paced team environment. The CRS role is a recognized career development pathway, with strong performers progressing into advanced roles within the Private Risk Management practice.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Service & Account Management

  • Respond to incoming client service requests for small to large accounts.
  • Answer client questions regarding coverage via email and phone.
  • Support new business issuance as needed in accordance with carrier guidelines and firm standards.
  • Remarket accounts as needed to ensure coverage remains aligned with client needs.

Risk & Coverage Support

  • Advise and counsel on risk exposures as questions arise from clients.
  • Review inspection reports for accuracy on coverage and potential loss prevention issues; provide direction to resolve claims-related matters.
  • Maintain a concern for accuracy and thoroughness in all client, firm, and carrier interactions to minimize errors and omissions exposure.

Carrier & Platform Knowledge

  • Cultivate working knowledge of insurance company partners, including contracts, requirements, and system capabilities.
  • Understand and introduce the firm's holistic platform as appropriate, including employee benefits, commercial insurance, and asset protection.
  • Remain current on industry offerings to accurately respond to client inquiries.

Team & Operational Excellence

  • Work collaboratively within a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared service goals.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, managing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with accuracy and composure.
  • Identify opportunities to improve firm processes and bring discrepancies or issues to the attention of appropriate leadership.
  • Uphold the firm's behavioral tenets and operate in alignment with Baldwin's corporate culture.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • 3+ years of experience in personal insurance, including familiarity with insurance company contracts, guidelines, proprietary insurer systems, and claims.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn firm and carrier software programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong multitasker who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Takes initiative; contributes as a proactive and determined professional.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and reliability in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Current state insurance license as required by the State Department of Insurance, or ability and willingness to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment.
  • College degree preferred; professional designations (e.g., CPCU, CIC) a plus.
