ANDERSEN CORPORATION SUMMARY:

JOB DESCRIPTION

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting up, troubleshooting, and operating metal working machinery that includes the following: CNC machining centers, wire EDM machines, manual mills, manual lathes, welding, etc.
  • Haas or Charmilles experience a plus.
  • Assisting with process development, process improvement, and fixture design.
  • Depending on individual’s previous experience, some use of Mastercam may be required as well.
  • Works closely with the Department Lead, Operations Manager, Production Coordinator, and other machinists as a team.
  • Following all Quality Management procedures and processes and work with quality personnel to determine best suited inspection processes when applicable.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area and the cleanliness of the machines or work areas as assigned.
  • Assist with overall area and facility housekeeping activities
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment in your assigned area as needed and requested.
  • Working towards the achievement of defined personal goals established with management
  • Request resources and guidance as needed from management in the achievement of these goals.
  • These stated duties and responsibilities may change from time to time based on the ever changing needs of the organization, its customers, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to use quality measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, indicators, etc.)
  • Excellent troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
  • Is dependable and possesses a high level of integrity
  • Takes initiative, works and communicates well with others
  • Respectful attitude towards others
  • Possesses strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Has deep understanding of GD&T
  • Is a good communicator in both oral and written forms
  • Excels in a team environment and works well with others
  • Is able to work in a fast-paced, small company environment
  • Ability to lift/pull up to fifty (50) pounds, to stand for long periods of time, and to wear personal protective equipment
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

SAFETY:

  • Proper PPE to be worn while on the shop floor, including safety glasses, long pants, steel toe boots; no loose or baggy clothing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
  • Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50lbs.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping and grasping.
  • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed work boots or shoes.

Occasional overtime work may be required to meet business demands. Will be exposed to diverse manufacturing environments, noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous material.

PAY RANGE:

$22.45 - $32.55
