## About Coastal Waste & Recycling

# Lead Leaders. Serve Customers. Grow the Business.

Are you an experienced operations leader who enjoys developing people, building high-performing teams, and growing a business? As an Operations Manager at Coastal Waste & Recycling, you'll lead daily operations while helping expand our customer base, strengthen municipal and commercial partnerships, and drive operational excellence.

At Coastal, our Operations Managers do more than oversee routes—they develop leaders, build great teams, deliver exceptional service, and identify opportunities to grow the business.

## Your Role

As an Operations Manager, you'll lead multiple collection operations while coaching and developing Operations Supervisors responsible for residential, commercial, industrial, and specialty collection services. You'll own staffing, operational performance, employee development, safety, customer service, and financial performance while partnering with Sales, Dispatch, Customer Experience, Fleet Maintenance, Career Path, and other departments to ensure every customer receives exceptional service.

In addition to leading operations, you'll play an active role in supporting business development by identifying growth opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and partnering with Sales to expand Coastal's presence within your market.

## What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop Operations Supervisors while building a strong pipeline of future operational leaders.
  • Own the overall performance of your assigned operations, including safety, staffing, customer service, productivity, employee engagement, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Develop Operations Supervisors through regular coaching, field observations, leadership development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Build and maintain appropriate staffing levels by partnering with Career Path to recruit, hire, onboard, develop, and retain exceptional employees.
  • Champion Coastal's safety culture through daily coaching, field observations, ride-alongs, and operational leadership.
  • Monitor key operational and financial metrics, including labor, overtime, productivity, route efficiency, fleet utilization, customer satisfaction, and operating costs.
  • Partner closely with Dispatch, Customer Experience, Fleet Maintenance, Safety, Career Path, and District leadership to remove operational barriers and continuously improve performance.
  • Conduct regular operational reviews, field visits, and ride-alongs to reinforce company standards and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns while strengthening long-term customer relationships and service satisfaction.
  • Partner with Sales to identify new business opportunities, support customer retention efforts, participate in customer meetings, and assist with municipal and commercial business development initiatives.
  • Develop relationships with local businesses, municipalities, contractors, and community partners to support market growth and strengthen Coastal's reputation.
  • Support contract renewals, service expansions, and operational evaluations for prospective customers by providing operational expertise and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability through operational efficiencies while supporting sustainable business growth.
  • Lead the implementation of new operational initiatives, technology, and process improvements.
  • Foster collaboration across markets by partnering with fellow Operations Managers to share resources and best practices.
  • At Coastal, we win as a team. Operations Managers develop exceptional leaders, strengthen customer relationships, drive operational excellence, and help grow our business while delivering outstanding service to the communities we serve.

## What You'll Bring

  • Progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, waste and recycling, utilities, construction, manufacturing, or another field operations environment.
  • Experience leading leaders and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operational performance, customer satisfaction, and financial results.
  • Experience supporting business development, customer retention, account management, or commercial operations is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.

  • Competitive Pay
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Leadership Development Opportunities
  • Opportunity to build great teams and serve your community.
