About the Role
Wee Friends Child Care Center II is looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead GSRP Teacher to join our team in Commerce Township, MI! In this rewarding role, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners by delivering high-quality early childhood education through Michigan's Great Start Readiness Program.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate GSRP curriculum aligned with Michigan's Early Childhood Standards of Quality
- Conduct child assessments and maintain accurate developmental records using approved tools
- Build and maintain a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with families through regular communication, home visits, and parent-teacher conferences
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Participate in required GSRP professional development, training, and program evaluations
- Coordinate with support staff, administrators, and community partners to meet the needs of each child
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required for GSRP Lead Teacher) OR A VALID CDA OR ASSOCIATES DEGREE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate or ability to obtain one preferred
- Prior experience in a GSRP, Head Start, or preschool classroom setting strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Michigan's Great Start Readiness Program guidelines and requirements
- Experience with child assessment tools such as Teaching Strategies GOLD
- Strong communication and family engagement skills
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements
