Position Summary
The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable breakfast experience for every guest. This position ensures the breakfast area is clean, organized, fully stocked, and maintained according to Hilton brand standards while providing outstanding guest service. As one of the first team members many guests encounter each morning, the Breakfast Attendant plays a key role in creating a positive first impression of the hotel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Greet guests with a friendly, welcoming attitude.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining Hilton hospitality standards.
- Answer guest questions regarding breakfast offerings, hotel amenities, and local attractions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns.
Breakfast Operations
- Prepare and set up the expanded breakfast area prior to opening.
- Stock bagels, breads, cereals, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, pastries, beverages, condiments, and other breakfast items according to brand standards.
- Brew and maintain fresh coffee throughout breakfast service.
- Monitor inventory during service and replenish food and beverage items as needed.
- Ensure all food is presented attractively and safely.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain a clean dining area throughout breakfast service.
- Wipe tables, chairs, counters, beverage stations, and other guest areas.
- Empty trash receptacles as needed.
- Clean spills immediately to maintain a safe environment.
- Wash and sanitize breakfast equipment and serving utensils.
- Properly clean and store all breakfast supplies after service.
- Leave the breakfast area prepared for the following day's operation.
Inventory & Supplies
- Monitor breakfast inventory levels.
- Notify management when supplies are running low.
- Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Properly store food items according to health department regulations.
Team Responsibilities
- Communicate maintenance issues or safety concerns to management immediately.
- Assist with light cleaning of public areas when breakfast duties are complete.
- Support other departments as business needs require.
- Attend team meetings and participate in hotel training.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hospitality or food service experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and carry supplies.
- Work in both kitchen and guest dining environments.
Work Schedule
- Early morning availability required, including weekends and holidays.
- Typical shift begins before breakfast service to allow adequate preparation.
