Specialty Auction Team Member - Level I

Position Summary

The Specialty Auction Team Member is responsible for supporting Beloit Auction's specialty auction operations through the safe and efficient handling, transportation, preparation, movement, and fulfillment of auction assets. Team Members work both at Beloit Auction's facilities and at off-site customer locations, assisting with industrial, commercial, construction, estate, vehicle, and other specialty auctions.

This position requires a dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented individual who is willing to perform a wide variety of physical and operational tasks while delivering exceptional service to consignors, buyers, and fellow team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Specialty Auction Operations

  • Receive, unload, inspect, and process consignments.
  • Load, unload, move, stage, and transport merchandise and equipment.
  • Assist with auction setup and teardown.
  • Prepare auction lots for sale.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (when trained and authorized).
  • Operate trucks, trailers, and other Company equipment as authorized.
  • Assist with customer pickups and load-outs.
  • Prepare items for shipping and freight transportation.
  • Maintain organized warehouse staging and inventory areas.
  • Assist with inventory movement and storage.

Off-Site Projects

  • Assist with estate projects, business liquidations, and other off-site assignments.
  • Travel to customer locations as required.
  • Load and transport auction assets between locations.
  • Assist with job site setup, organization, and cleanup.
  • Safely handle equipment, machinery, furniture, vehicles, and other specialty assets.

Safety & Equipment

  • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections before use.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or accidents immediately.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Customer Service

  • Provide professional and courteous service to consignors, buyers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Represent Beloit Auction in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Assist customers during pickups and other operational activities.

Team Responsibilities

  • Assist other departments whenever business needs require.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Forklift experience preferred (training may be provided).
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools as required.
  • Mechanical aptitude is beneficial.
  • Prior warehouse, logistics, construction, moving, agricultural, industrial, or auction experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and regularly requires the employee to:

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise and equipment.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance or appropriate equipment.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel to off-site customer locations as required.

Work Environment

Work is performed in warehouses, auction facilities, customer locations, construction sites, industrial facilities, estate properties, and outdoor environments.

Employees should expect exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, uneven terrain, and other conditions commonly associated with warehouse and field operations.

Schedule

Specialty Auction Team Members are generally scheduled:

  • Five workdays per week during normal operating periods.
  • Six workdays per week during major specialty auction weeks or other high-volume operational periods.
  • Occasionally four workdays per week during slower operational periods, as determined by management.

Schedules may vary based on auction activity, customer demand, project requirements, staffing needs, weather conditions, and other operational considerations.
