Lead the Future of Ambulatory Nursing at Northeast Georgia Health System

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is seeking a visionary and transformational nursing executive to serve as our Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Ambulatory Services. Reporting to the Senior Vice President & System Chief Nurse Executive, this leader will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for ambulatory nursing services across one of Georgia's leading health systems.

Position Summary

The CNO, Ambulatory Services, is responsible for the overall direction, performance, and advancement of ambulatory nursing practice and operations across NGHS. This executive leader develops and executes the ambulatory nursing strategy, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting organizational growth and innovation.

Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, operational leaders, and nursing teams, the CNO will strengthen care coordination across the continuum and create an exceptional experience for patients, families, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction of ambulatory nursing services across NGHS.
  • Drive excellence in clinical quality, patient safety, service, and operational performance.
  • Develop and implement system-wide nursing initiatives that support growth and value-based care.
  • Partner with physician and operational leaders to improve access, care coordination, and patient experience.
  • Champion evidence-based practice, innovation, and professional nursing excellence.
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, retention, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Provide executive oversight of ambulatory nursing budgets, resource allocation, and financial performance.
  • Support technology adoption, telehealth expansion, and clinical information system initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Georgia RN license
  • Master's degree required
  • BSN plus Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
  • 7–10 years of progressively responsible nursing leadership experience
  • Proven success leading nursing operations in complex healthcare environments
  • Experience in strategic planning, budget management, performance improvement, and organizational change
  • National certification in a clinical or leadership specialty within two years of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing
  • Ambulatory or outpatient leadership experience
  • Magnet-designated organization experience
  • Clinical information systems implementation experience
  • Leadership roles within professional nursing organizations
