Lead Business Data Analysts are responsible for owning and advancing how Commercial Data Governance work is delivered, structured, and scaled.
This role operates across business, data, and risk domains to ensure data quality, control effectiveness, and operational processes are translated into clear, consistent, and defensible outputs. The position goes beyond execution of analysis and requires accountability for how work is approached, standardized, and adopted across the team.
The Lead Analyst partners closely with business and data stakeholders to ensure data challenges are:
- understood in the context of business operations,
- framed in terms of risk and impact,
- and resolved in a way that supports long‐term scalability and confidence.
This role is a critical part of building a capability where data confidence is not assumed, but measured, explainable, and actionable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Quality Assessment & Issue Triage
- Establish and drive consistent approaches for intake, triage, and prioritization of data quality issues
- Differentiate between root causes across data, processes, controls, and definitions
- Identify recurring patterns and drive movement from isolated issue resolution to systemic improvement
Governance Enablement & Operationalization
- Translate governance expectations into practical, repeatable workflows
- Promote consistent application of governance standards across stakeholders and use cases
- Identify opportunities to improve clarity, reduce friction, and enable adoption of governance practices
Control Oversight & Data Confidence Development
- Lead interpretation of monitoring results and control outputs
- Connect control performance to business processes and risk exposure
- Support development of a clear and defensible view of data confidence across critical data elements
Delivery Execution & Workstream Leadership
- Own outcomes across complex workstreams, including prioritization, sequencing, and execution approach
- Coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders to maintain delivery momentum
- Resolve cross‐functional challenges and ensure consistent progress toward defined objectives
Strategic Advisory & Solutioning (Targeted Engagement)
- Partner with stakeholders to shape solutions that are scalable, compliant, and aligned to business priorities
- Translate data issues into business implications and trade‐offs
- Ensure data considerations are incorporated early to reduce downstream risk and rework
Team Enablement & Standardization
- Convert effective approaches into repeatable patterns, templates, and practices
- Provide guidance and mentorship to analysts across the team
- Promote consistency in how problems are structured, analyzed, and resolved
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Experience / Knowledge
- Strong experience in data analysis, data quality, or data governance within a commercial or financial services context
- Understanding of how data is created, transformed, and used within business processes
- Familiarity with data risk, control concepts, and operational data dependencies
Analytical & Problem‐Solving Skills
- Ability to break down complex, ambiguous problems into structured approaches
- Strong root cause identification across data, process, and control dimensions
- Ability to connect detailed findings into broader patterns and themes
Leadership & Execution
- Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams and drive outcomes with limited direction

Total Base Pay Range 82,100.00 - 172,500.00 USD Annual
