The Production Assistant supports the execution of technical and logistical elements for School of Music events, concerts, rehearsals, and classes. This role provides hands-on event support, resource management, and team coordination, working closely with SOM faculty and staff to ensure excellence in all production activities.
- Provide technical and logistical support for all SOM events (event, concerts, rehearsals, and classes) as requested.
- Assist with stage and classroom setup/teardown, equipment operation, and AV preparation as needed.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate complex problems to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain production documents (event checklists, equipment logs, maintenance schedules) as directed.
- Assist with managing platform access and updates (ex. Planning Center Online, Multitracks.com, ProPresenter, etc.).
- Assist with creating media content (slides, lyrics, basic video edits).
- Operate recording equipment for rehearsals, recitals, and practice sessions.
- Conduct routine checks and light troubleshooting of classroom AV equipment.
- Assist in preparing equipment and media for traveling ministry teams.
- Support and coordinate LU vehicles and trailers usage by SOM.
- Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
## Education and Experience
- Four-year college degree, with a concentration in Communications, Audio Engineering, Recording, or other related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in audio/video/lighting production in supporting live events where setup, operation, and teardown of audio/video/lighting systems are required (especially concerts or large events with single/multiple bands, orchestras, or speech).
- Knowledge and experience with audio console and speaker systems, video switchers, LED walls, or lighting consoles.
- Working knowledge of audio and visual concepts, PowerPoint, and ProPresenter.
- Positive attitude, hardworking, self-motivated, and diligent.

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
