Full job description
Providing secretarial, administrative, and scheduling support for the College of Arts & Sciences Dean, Associate Dean, and Admin office. Monitor budget, supervise student workers, order supplies, and other clerical tasks. Other administrative and secretarial tasks as needed.
## ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide faculty and staff support to ROTC and the College of Arts and Sciences, including LU Online.
- Work with ROTC administration to plan, execute, and coordinate events, meetings, and recruitment opportunities for ROTC. These include CFAW, Experience LU, cadet orientation, and on- and off-site cadet training.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office is essential. Knowledge of LU applications such as Canvas, WordPress, INFOR, and BuyLU is helpful.
- Understand the basics of operational budget, purchasing policy, and travel planning.
- Confidentially manage student/cadet information on behalf of ROTC.
- Create a welcoming environment for students and families in the ROTC office.
- Assist with website updates and social media.
- Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
## SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule and supervise student workers and cadets in the department as they assist with social media posting, department events, and other tasks as assigned.
- Delegate weekly tasks and provide clear instructions (written and verbal) detailing assigned tasks and expectations.
- Monitor and approve student worker hours in the Workday system weekly.
## QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
## Education and Experience
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED required. BA or BS preferred.
- Two years of experience in related field and high-volume office setting preferred.

- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Computer and scheduling skills.

## Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Required to travel to local and campus locations.
- May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
# WORKING CONDITIONS
## Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate. Working environment also includes facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
## Driving Requirements
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
