About the Role

Furniture Mart in Houma, LA is looking for a hardworking and dependable Retail Furniture Stockroom Associate to join our team! In this hands-on role, you'll be the backbone of our showroom operations — keeping inventory organized, product moving, and customers happy. If you love staying active and take pride in a job well done, this is the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and process incoming furniture shipments and deliveries
  • Organize and maintain stockroom and showroom
  • Assist sales floor staff with pulling, staging, and transferring furniture pieces
  • Assist customers on sales floor as needed
  • Learn and operate POS system
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing merchandise for damage or defects
  • Operate hand trucks, dollies, and other material handling equipment safely
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and stockroom environment
  • Support customer pickup orders and assist with loading merchandise into vehicles

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move heavy furniture items (50+ lbs) regularly
  • Previous stockroom, warehouse, or retail experience preferred
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends
  • Strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic inventory or receiving experience is a plus
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
