Job Overview:

Primoris Distribution Services is seeking an experienced Gas Foreman to lead underground natural gas construction crews in Balch Springs, Texas. The Gas Foreman will coordinate daily field operations, direct crew members, monitor productivity, and ensure all work is completed safely and according to company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise crews performing underground natural gas construction, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Plan daily work activities and assign tasks based on project needs and crew capabilities.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, job briefings, and pre-job hazard assessments.
  • Ensure employees follow all company, customer, OSHA, DOT, and applicable pipeline-safety requirements.
  • Review project plans, work orders, maps, and construction specifications.
  • Coordinate the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of underground gas distribution systems.
  • Monitor job progress, crew productivity, workmanship, and project schedules.
  • Confirm underground utilities are properly located before excavation begins.
  • Oversee excavation, trenching, pipe installation, backfilling, compaction, and site restoration.
  • Ensure tools, vehicles, materials, and equipment are used safely and properly maintained.
  • Complete and submit required daily reports, time records, production documentation, and job-site paperwork.
  • Communicate project updates, delays, material needs, and safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other crews when required.
  • Train, coach, and provide direction to crew members.
  • Promote a professional, respectful, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading underground natural gas, pipeline, or utility construction crews required.
  • Strong knowledge of underground gas-distribution construction practices and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, utility maps, work orders, and project specifications.
  • Experience operating construction equipment is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan work, direct employees, and meet production deadlines.
  • Ability to use mobile devices or computer systems to complete required field documentation.
  • Ability to perform physical work and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, nights, weekends, or emergency callouts as required.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings.
