About the role

You will lead a portfolio of oncology accounts with strong growth potential, partnering with an established client base to deliver impactful publications and medical affairs programmes. Reporting to the Business Director, you will play a key role in shaping account strategy, driving growth, and ensuring the overall health of your accounts.

This role combines leadership and delivery oversight, with a particular focus on publications (approximately 70%) alongside broader medical affairs deliverables. Working closely with a talented cross-functional team, you will bring together scientific excellence and commercial insight to deliver high-quality, strategically aligned programmes. You will lead and develop a team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

As a senior leader within the unit, you will contribute to the wider leadership agenda, supporting the Business Director in shaping capability development, driving best practice, and contributing to the overall success and growth of the unit.

What you'll do

Lead and oversee delivery across oncology accounts, ensuring excellence across publications and medical affairs programmes. Provide strategic direction to clients, driving alignment between scientific value and commercial objectives. Identify and develop organic growth opportunities within existing accounts, contributing to overall revenue growth. Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing client services team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Oversee programme delivery to ensure quality, timelines, and financial targets are consistently met. Partner closely with cross-functional teams across scientific, editorial, project management, creative, digital to deliver integrated solutions. Contribute to new business opportunities, including proposal development and pitches. Support the Business Director in shaping account strategy, capability development, and broader unit initiatives. Ensure best practices, processes, and compliance standards are upheld across all programmes. About you Extensive client services experience in medical communications, with a strong track record across both publications and medical affairs deliverables. Proven leadership expertise, including managing and developing high performing teams. Commercially focused, with experience identifying and driving account growth opportunities. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation e.g., omnichannel, technology and AI. Comfortable contributing to broader unit leadership, helping shape team capability and business performance. What we can offer
