Job Summary
The Senior Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or provides support for laboratory activities. Skilled in multiple laboratory techniques or testing areas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Manage inventory for required operating materials
- Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
- Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements
- Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates
- Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned
- Works under the direction of technical leaders

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required
- Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts, and analytical testing equipment
- Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas
- Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Skills in implementing process improvements
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment
Preferred
- Developing skills in two or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, microscopy, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography, or chromatography
Education & Experience:
Required
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related scientific field
- 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques
Preferred
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
- 5+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques
- Experience using a LabWare or similar LIMS
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified organization
