Responsibilities

Classroom Support & Child Development

  • Assist in planning and implementing daily classroom activities.
  • Treat each child with dignity and respect, recognizing their unique needs and backgrounds.
  • Help children develop problem-solving skills, independence, and self-confidence.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy learning environment.
  • Support children in activities that promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development.

Classroom Management & Organization

  • Supervise the classroom when the Lead Teacher is out of the room.
  • Assist with meal preparation, snack distribution, and clean-up.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and emergency procedures.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Lead Teacher and administrative staff to maintain a high-quality learning environment.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, sharing children's daily milestones.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children and their families.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, sit on the floor & move classroom furniture or equipment as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification if not already certified.
