About the Role
Join Northern Trust's Integrated Portfolio Services (IPS) team and play a key role in delivering exceptional service to hedge fund and alternative investment clients. As a Consultant, Investor Services, you will support critical investor lifecycle activities, including subscriptions, redemptions, investor reporting, AML/KYC reviews, and client servicing. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented financial services professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and wants to develop deep expertise within alternative investments.
Major Duties:
- Review and process investor subscription documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and fund requirements.
- Manage investor transactions, including subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, and capital activity reporting.
- Complete AML, KYC, and client verification reviews in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and issue investor statements, trade confirmations, and other investor reporting.
- Maintain investor records, share registers, and subscription bank account information.
- Partner with fund managers, investors, and internal teams to resolve inquiries and operational issues.
- Assist with investor audit requests and ongoing due diligence activities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert within Investor Services and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to enhancing the client experience.
- Handle complex client and operational matters with significant business impact.
Knowledge:
- Experience in Investor Services, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, Client Services, AML/KYC, Operations, or a related financial services function.
- Strong understanding of investor onboarding, subscriptions, redemptions, and investor servicing activities.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and committed to delivering exceptional client service.
- Proficiency with financial services systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Relevant industry experience within hedge funds, asset servicing, alternative investments, private markets, or fund administration.
- Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) are a plus.
