About the Role
Marine Chemist Service Inc is looking for a motivated Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our team in Newport News, VA. Responsibilities
- Conduct industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring for asbestos, lead and other metals, and mold
- Perform atmosphere testing in marine and industrial settings
- Collect and document field data, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records
- Support compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, and other applicable regulatory standards
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain industrial hygiene monitoring equipment
- Collaborate with clients and safety personnel to identify and mitigate workplace health hazards
Requirements
- Prior experience in industrial hygiene, environmental health, or occupational safety is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, NIOSH methods, and industrial hygiene sampling techniques is also a plus but not required.
- Experience working in marine, shipyard, or heavy industrial environments is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed. Company vehicles are provided.
