Job Description Summary:

Option Care Health is seeking a transformational and highly accomplished Senior Vice President, Specialty Operations to lead the strategic, operational, clinical, and financial performance of one of the nation's largest specialty pharmacy and specialty therapeutics platforms. This executive will be responsible for the end-to-end leadership of national specialty pharmacy operations, including specialty dispensing, patient services, access and reimbursement, revenue cycle management, buy-and-bill operations, pharmacy fulfillment, clinical operations, patient onboarding, digital enablement, and enterprise operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a nationally recognized specialty pharmacy executive with extensive experience scaling multi-site operations, leading large, distributed teams, driving EBITDA and operational performance, and transforming patient, provider, and employee experiences through technology, analytics, automation, and continuous improvement. This leader will partner closely with Commercial, Clinical, Finance, Technology, Payer Strategy, Market Access, and Manufacturer Relations leadership to accelerate growth across chronic, rare, orphan, oncology, and other complex specialty therapeutic categories while maintaining industry-leading patient outcomes, compliance, quality, and service excellence.Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Specialty Operations Leadership

  • Develop and execute a multi-year specialty operations strategy aligned with Option Care Health's growth objectives and specialty market expansion plans.
  • Lead all national specialty pharmacy operations, including dispensing, fulfillment, patient onboarding, pharmacy services, care coordination, admissions, reimbursement support, and operational centers of excellence.
  • Establish scalable operating models that support significant growth across chronic, rare, orphan, oncology, immunology, neurology, and other specialty therapeutic areas.
  • Drive enterprise-wide operational consistency, service excellence, productivity, and patient outcomes across all sites and functions.
  • Serve as a key member of the Specialty and Enterprise Leadership Team, influencing organizational strategy and long-term investments.

Revenue Cycle Management & Financial Performance

  • Own operational performance across specialty pharmacy and buy-and-bill revenue cycle functions.
  • Lead enterprise strategies to maximize reimbursement, accelerate cash collections, reduce revenue leakage, improve clean claim rates, and optimize gross-to-net performance.
  • Oversee patient access, benefits investigation, prior authorization, financial assistance, copay support, claims management, collections, and reimbursement operations.
  • Partner with Finance and Commercial leaders to drive profitable growth, margin expansion, and operating leverage.
  • Manage a multi-hundred-million-dollar operating budget and deliver against aggressive growth and EBITDA targets.

Specialty Pharmacy & Therapeutic Operations

  • Provide executive oversight across dispensing operations supporting chronic, rare, orphan, oncology, immunology, inflammatory, pulmonary, neurology, and gene/cell therapy-adjacent therapeutic categories.
  • Drive best-in-class patient experience, adherence, persistence, and therapy outcomes.
  • Ensure operational readiness for emerging specialty medications, limited distribution drugs, manufacturer programs, and innovative care models.
  • Lead network optimization and operational scalability to support national expansion.

Digital Transformation, Automation & Artificial Intelligence

  • Serve as the executive sponsor for specialty operations digital transformation initiatives.
  • Champion enterprise automation strategies utilizing AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, robotic process automation (RPA), workflow intelligence, and next-generation patient engagement technologies.
  • Modernize specialty pharmacy operating models to improve efficiency, quality, productivity, forecasting, patient engagement, and workforce effectiveness.
  • Create a data-driven operating environment with real-time operational dashboards, predictive performance metrics, and advanced analytics.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish a culture of operational excellence using Lean, Six Sigma, process engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead enterprise initiatives focused on productivity improvement, cycle-time reduction, capacity optimization, quality enhancement, and cost reduction.
  • Implement standardized performance management frameworks and enterprise KPI governance.
  • Ensure rigorous accountability for operational, service, quality, compliance, and financial results.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead a large national organization consisting of vice presidents, regional leaders, directors, pharmacists, operations leaders, revenue cycle teams, reimbursement specialists, and support functions.
  • Build and develop a high-performance leadership team capable of supporting sustained growth and future expansion.
  • Attract, mentor, retain, and develop executive and emerging leadership talent.
  • Foster a culture centered on accountability, innovation, patient focus, collaboration, and execution excellence.

Strategic Growth & Market Leadership

  • Partner with the EVP Specialty Sales & Solutions to support manufacturer, payer, provider, health system, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Support diligence and integration activities related to acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and new business opportunities.
  • Translate market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback into operational capabilities that create competitive advantage.
  • Represent Option Care Health with manufacturers, payers, health systems, accreditation organizations, and industry associations.

Compliance, Quality & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory requirements governing specialty pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain accreditation readiness and operational excellence related to URAC, ACHC, NABP, and other applicable standards.
  • Oversee patient safety, pharmacy quality programs, audit readiness, and enterprise risk management activities.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to the highest legal, ethical, clinical, and regulatory standards.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an accomplished healthcare executive with a demonstrated track record of leading complex, high-growth specialty pharmacy organizations at national scale.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in specialty pharmacy, healthcare operations, specialty therapeutics, infusion services, or related sectors.
  • Significant executive leadership experience overseeing national, multi-site specialty pharmacy operations.
  • Extensive experience leading specialty pharmacy revenue cycle management, reimbursement, patient access, and buy-and-bill operations.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale national organizations with 1,000+ team members across multiple geographies and functions.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise transformation initiatives involving digital technologies, automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
  • Strong history of delivering sustained growth, margin expansion, productivity improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Experience owning major P&L responsibility with accountability for revenue, EBITDA, budgets, and capital planning.
  • Deep expertise in specialty therapeutics, including chronic, rare, orphan, oncology, immunology, neurology, and other complex disease states.
  • Demonstrated success implementing Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence, and process transformation initiatives.

Preferred Experience

  • Executive leadership experience within a national specialty pharmacy organization, PBM specialty platform, integrated healthcare delivery organization, specialty infusion company, or large pharmaceutical services organization.
  • Experience supporting limited distribution drug networks, manufacturer services programs, and specialty commercialization efforts.
  • Experience integrating acquisitions and scaling enterprise operations during periods of rapid growth.
  • Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, life sciences preferred
  • Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • MBA, MHA, R.Ph, PharmD, or other advanced healthcare/business degree highly desirable.
