The Records Management Clerk – Query Litigation provides documentation search assistance to the Office of Historical Trust Accounting (OHTA). The OHTA provides historical accountings of Individual Indian Money (IIM) accounts and litigation support for trust fund related litigation filed by Indian tribes against the United States. This position assists with identifying, locating and securing available data / records necessary to conduct and support historical accounting efforts.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Possesses or has the ability to obtain a Public trust clearance.
- Knowledgeable in preservation and recall of historical account data records.
- Microsoft Suite with the ability to quickly grasp specialized automated systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to produce professional accounting and financial reports.
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Highly detail‐oriented; quickly grasps business needs, identifies challenges, and provides effective solutions.
- Experience in accounting records management and filing processes.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment toward the successful achievement of goals.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with identifying, locating and securing available data / records necessary to conduct and support historical accounting efforts.
- Assists with multiple historical accounting systems in the analysis, reporting and archival of historical accounting information.
- Follows established processes for archiving and retaining work products.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma with a minimum of six (6) months of experience in document retrieval and related systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience performing database queries preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. May be required to lift, push or pull 50 pounds or more using cart or hand truck. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May work near moving or mechanical parts. May have exposure to chemicals, fumes, warehouse environment or adverse weather conditions. May be required to use safety and personal protective equipment.
