Ideal candidates for HR Coordinator will have at least two years of human resources experience, which includes direct employee contact (recruiting, hiring, discipline, conflict resolution, etc.). Successful candidates can work independently with little supervision, are able to adapt to a dynamic environment, and are able to effectively present information to candidates and new team members.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment Strategy: Create and maintain an extensive recruitment network, including community colleges, travel/airline academies, high school/student employment offices, and public agencies, to attract qualified applicants.
  • Collaborative Recruitment: Develop recruitment strategies in coordination with station managers to achieve staffing targets effectively.
  • Candidate Selection: Interview and select qualified applicants while overseeing the background verification and new hire orientation process to ensure a positive experience for new team members.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Conduct wage and benefits surveys and research airport/port authorities, cities, and other relevant entities to determine any special regulatory requirements regarding wages, benefits, and economic data.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of benefits plan participation, personnel transactions, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Employee Support: Act as the primary point of contact for team member inquiries related to policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform or assist with various administrative tasks, including employee payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other reports assigned by station management, such as labor, out-of-scope billing, de-icing, and airline compliance reports.

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be at least 18 years old and possess an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; alternatively, two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated strong communication skills to interact professionally with team members and customers.
  • Legal Compliance: Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook software.
  • Security Clearance: Be able to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes an extensive employment, criminal record, and residence background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to use close vision and ability to adjust focus.
