JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

We help individuals, families, and businesses throughout the United States and abroad navigate complex immigration matters. Our work includes removal defense, asylum, family immigration, employment immigration, naturalization, and corporate immigration compliance.
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Law Clerk to support our immigration practice. The ideal candidate has completed law school, has taken the bar examination, and is awaiting results or admission. This position provides hands on legal experience, mentorship from experienced immigration attorneys, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful client matters.
Following successful completion of the bar examination and admission to practice law, the Law Clerk may be considered for an Associate Attorney position based on performance, qualifications, and the Firm’s needs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Conduct legal research involving immigration statutes, regulations, case law, and administrative guidance.
- Draft legal memoranda, motions, briefs, appeals, client correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Assist attorneys with preparing immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation.
- Review case facts, records, and evidence to identify relevant legal issues.
- Organize and maintain complete and accurate case files, evidence, and legal documentation.
- Attend client meetings, interviews, hearings, and other proceedings as appropriate.
- Monitor case deadlines, filing requirements, appointments, and case progress.
- Assist attorneys with court preparation, administrative hearings, and case strategy.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and documents as directed by an attorney.
- Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and other Firm associates to keep cases organized and moving forward.
- Protect confidential client information and maintain professional and ethical standards.
WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS
- You hold a Juris Doctor or Master of Laws degree from an accredited law school.
- You have taken the bar examination and are awaiting results or admission to practice law.
- You have strong legal research, writing, analysis, and critical thinking skills.
- You can manage multiple assignments, competing priorities, and strict deadlines.
- You are organized, accurate, and attentive to detail.
- You communicate clearly and professionally with clients, attorneys, and other Firm associates.
- You exercise sound judgment and recognize when consultation or escalation is appropriate.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable using legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- You are interested in developing your knowledge and building a career in immigration law.
Experience or a demonstrated interest in immigration law is preferred but not required.
Candidates who are fluent in a language other than English will receive additional consideration, although foreign language fluency is not required.

COMPENSATION
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000
Starting pay will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, language proficiency, legal knowledge, and other job related qualifications.
LOCATION
This is an in person position based in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Scheduling will be determined based on the needs of the Firm and the candidate’s availability.
