Staff Product Manager, Expenses at Brex — Seattle, WA
Full job description
Why join us
### Product at Brex
### What you’ll do
Processing a single expense is becoming commoditized. Managing expenses across an enterprise is not. Companies must distribute cards broadly while controlling risk, documenting transactions, enforcing policy, routing approvals, preparing for audit, and producing ERP-ready records.
As Staff Product Manager for Expenses, you will turn that complexity into one intelligent system for employees, managers, finance teams, and accountants. You will lead the strategy across documentation, policy, compliance, approvals, substantiation, audit, and accounting readiness.
You will align specialized product teams across Engineering, Design, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, and GTM. Using AI and automation, you will eliminate routine work, surface meaningful exceptions, help finance teams close faster, and build capabilities that win major enterprise relationships.
### Where you’ll work
### Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end strategy for enterprise expense management.
- Unify documentation, policy, compliance, approvals, substantiation, audit, and ERP readiness.
- Define the systems, data models, configurations, and controls complex enterprises require.
- Align specialized product teams around the complete expense lifecycle.
- Use AI to automate routine work and route only judgment-heavy exceptions to people.
- Partner with Design to make sophisticated enterprise workflows intuitive.
- Align Engineering, Design, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, Sales, and Customer Success around enterprise outcomes.
- Own adoption, workflow completion, manual-work reduction, close speed, retention, and software revenue.
### Requirements
- A track record of leading complex enterprise workflow or systems products.
- Strong technical fluency in backend systems, data models, integrations, and configurable product architecture.
- Experience supporting extensive customer permutations without sacrificing usability.
- Ability to unite multiple domains under one strategy and operating model.
- Strong customer and Design judgment across employee, manager, finance, and accounting experiences.
- Concrete judgment about where AI should remove work and where human review matters.
- Strong cross-functional influence and an understanding of how product capabilities affect enterprise sales and adoption.
- Expense management experience is preferred; accounting, ERP, procurement, compliance, or adjacent enterprise-software experience can substitute.
