Full job description

What you'll be doing

The People, Culture and Talent group leads the bank’s global human capital strategy by partnering with the business to unlock the potential of our people and deploy talent where it can make the greatest impact. Within this group, the Talent Acquisition team delivers innovative talent solutions and best-in-class experiences across the talent lifecycle while helping build an inclusive culture that reflects the clients and communities we serve.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll support recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates through a blend of recruiting coordination and recruiting operations. You’ll own interview logistics, manage day-to-day coordination activities, and execute core workflows in Workday to keep hiring processes organized, timely, accurate, and scalable. You’ll play an important role in creating a smooth candidate and interviewer experience while maintaining data integrity, supporting compliance, and contributing to operational excellence across the Talent Acquisition team.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Recruiting operations - Execute recruiting processes in Workday with a high degree of accuracy, including updating requisitions, moving candidates through stages, triggering approvals, coordinating pre-employment requirements, and supporting onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition from offer to start date.
  • Process excellence and compliance - Follow established Talent Acquisition policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, review deliverables for completeness and accuracy, and flag risks or process deviations for review.
  • Operational improvement - Maintain accurate recruiting records, manage Talent Acquisition mailboxes, contribute to updates of procedures and guides, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency across the team.
  • Metrics and reporting - Maintain accurate recruiting data and support reporting on hiring activity, trends, and key metrics to help the line of business make informed decisions, monitor progress, and identify opportunities to improve outcomes.
  • Interview coordination - Coordinate end-to-end interview scheduling for assigned roles, last-minute changes, and clear communication with candidates, interviewers, recruiters, and hiring managers. Act as the central point of coordination by monitoring schedules in real time, resolving issues such as technical challenges or scheduling changes, and keeping key stakeholders informed.
  • Candidate and stakeholder support - Prepare and distribute interview materials, agendas, and debrief logistics, respond to routine operational questions, and help deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for candidates and internal partners.

Who you are

  • You have relevant experience. You bring 1-3 years of experience in human resources operations, talent acquisition, recruiting coordination, or a related operational or administrative role.
  • You know recruiting systems. You have hands-on experience with an applicant tracking system, ideally Workday, including creating requisitions, managing candidate pipelines, and processing hires and onboarding.
  • You’re highly organized. You can manage multiple priorities at once, coordinate moving parts effectively, and maintain a strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines and service expectations.
  • You communicate with confidence. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and know how to build positive relationships with candidates, recruiters, hiring managers, and business leaders.
  • You’re technically proficient. You’re comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, to support coordination, reporting, and day-to-day operations.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave and Vacation), Holidays and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
