Full job description
The Mixing Crew Member will be responsible for operating and assisting with rubber mixing processes, ensuring accurate material measurements, maintaining product quality standards, supporting equipment operation, and adhering to all safety, environmental, and production requirements. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Operates and assists with industrial mixing equipment, including sequencing, control panel operations, pallet exchanges, and rubber container handling.
- Monitors compound weight measurements and ensures adherence to recipe specifications and quality standards.
- Utilizes Mixing Management Systems (MMS) to support production processes and maintain operational accuracy.
- Exchanges pallets, containers, and trolleys to ensure continuous production flow.
- Applies chemical weight tolerances and standards to maintain product consistency and quality.
- Troubleshoots machine cycle issues and applies problem-solving techniques to minimize downtime.
- Operates forklifts safely to transport materials and support manufacturing operations.
- Verifies recipe measurements and maintains accurate material handling procedures.
- Reads specifications and uses hand tools and gauging devices to monitor product quality and compliance.
- Responds quickly to equipment malfunctions and notifies supervision of downtime or unusual operating conditions.
- Performs both automatic and manual control panel functions to support production requirements.
- Complies with all plant, environmental, quality, and safety policies and procedures.
- Assists shift leaders and management with additional operational duties as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Successful completion of the WorkKeys Assessment with a minimum Silver certification level.
- Willingness and ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to lead, support, and promote teamwork in a production environment.
- Ability to read and understand specifications and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to accurately perform calculations, measurements, and documentation related to production processes.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
