About Our Family

We are a warm, busy household that runs at a fast pace, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Between two demanding careers, a child with a full schedule, pets, frequent family travel, and a home that we love sharing with friends and family, there is always a lot happening. We have a fantastic long-term nanny who is truly part of the family and handles the daily rhythm around our child. We are looking for someone who can help take the mental load off the rest of the household — the meals, the planning, the coordination, and the little things that tend to pile up.

We are looking for a true household partner — someone who can bring structure, organization, and thoughtful planning to the day-to-day details that keep a home running smoothly. The ideal person will help us stay ahead of what’s coming, from meal planning and household logistics to appointments, events, and family commitments, allowing us to spend less time managing tasks and more time enjoying our home and time together.

The person stepping into this role will primarily work independently, as both parents are out of the home for much of the day. This role will work alongside the existing household team, including our long-term nanny, and it is important that this dynamic is handled with care and professionalism. These roles are intended to complement one another (not overlap) with each person bringing their own strengths to help the household run smoothly. While some in-house presence may be needed, we believe that much of the work (including meal prep) can be done remotely.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

  • Relaxed and grounded — someone who brings calm to a busy household rather than adding to the noise
  • Proactive and self-directed; able to look ahead, anticipate needs, and take ownership without needing to be reminded
  • A strong communicator — comfortable making phone calls, coordinating with vendors, and keeping the household informed without being intrusive
  • Trustworthy and discreet, especially when it comes to managing personal logistics
  • Genuinely warm with kids and animals; this home has a child and pets at the center of daily life
  • Able to work comfortably and confidently without much direct supervision or in-person interaction with the family during the day
  • Organized and detail-oriented, especially when it comes to meal planning, supply management, and keeping track of what's coming up on the calendar
  • Someone who respects the existing household dynamic and understands how to complement the long-term household team already in place
  • Creative and confident in the kitchen — someone who enjoys cooking, experimenting with recipes, and creating healthy meals that fit the family’s lifestyle
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus — while not required, Spanish language skills would be appreciated

Key Responsibilities

Meal Planning & Prep

  • Meal preparation can take place in the candidate’s own kitchen or the family’s home, with flexibility based on preference, logistics, and what allows the candidate to work most efficiently.
  • Plan and prepare 2–3 dinners per week, ready to be warmed up or finished for the evening meal
  • Plan and prepare one weekend meal (e.g., a quiche or similar dish that reheats well)
  • Own the weekly meal planning process; once familiar with the family's preferences, take the lead on proposing menus
  • Prep healthy snacks and produce for grab-and-go use (washed and chopped fruits and vegetables)
  • Grocery shop for meal-specific ingredients in collaboration with the family via shared list access
  • Follow household dietary preferences: high protein, low dairy, low sugar, organic where possible, diverse cuisines welcome
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance after meal prep sessions

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Maintain household organization systems and perform daily resets as needed
  • Prepare the home ahead of dinner parties and guest stays, including ensuring the guest room is ready
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and assist with organizational projects (closets, gear, etc.) on an ad hoc basis
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel on an as-needed basis
  • Schedule regular maintenance and servicing for the family vehicles

Inventory & Errands

  • Proactively monitor and restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Maintain a running shared household supply list
  • Take ownership of gift shopping and select household purchases, using a shared credit card within an agreed-upon budget
  • Coordinate dry cleaning, returns, and other household errands as needed

Administrative & Calendar Support

  • Maintain and update the household calendar (Hearth); track upcoming events, school activities, appointments, and commitments
  • Coordinate appointments and reservations: haircuts, restaurant bookings, work dinners, activity registrations, etc.
  • Oversee scheduling for the child's extracurricular activities and ensure logistics are planned in advance
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics for family trips
  • Receipt and budget tracking

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Serve as the point of contact for cleaners, landscapers, and contractors during working hours
  • Research, schedule, and coordinate home repairs, maintenance quotes, and service visits

Pet Care

  • Schedule vet and grooming appointments for the household pets
  • Maintain pet supply inventory
  • Provide ad hoc dog feeding and walking when the nanny is unavailable
