Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced OSP Supervisor to oversee fiber optic construction projects. This role is responsible for managing field crews, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining safety compliance, and serving as the main point of contact between crews, city officials, clients, and management.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands underground fiber construction, directional drilling, restoration, and aerial work. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred, as this position regularly communicates with English- and Spanish-speaking field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise directional drilling, fiber placement, and aerial crews
  • Plan daily production and manage crew schedules
  • Manage daily crew assignments, production goals, and footage tracking
  • Ensure all work meets company, city, and client standards
  • Track footage, bore logs, photos, and daily reports
  • Maintain job site safety and enforce PPE requirements
  • Coordinate inspections, restoration, and close-out documentation
  • Communicate directly with Construction Managers, city officials, clients, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (PPE, JSA, tailgate meetings, and traffic control)
  • Hold crews accountable for production, safety, quality, and professionalism
  • Facilitate effective communication between English- and Spanish-speaking team members when needed

Requirements

  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in fiber construction (underground and/or aerial)
  • Experience supervising drill crews preferred
  • Experience in OSP fiber construction (drilling, placing, or supervision)
  • Strong understanding of directional drilling, restoration, utility locates, and jobsite safety
  • Ability to read construction maps, utility prints, and project plans
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve field issues quickly
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and extended workdays
  • Organized, dependable, and proactive
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (ability to communicate effectively with field crews and subcontractors).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling)
  • Knowledge of city inspection processes
  • Experience with production tracking and project documentation
  • OSHA certification (or willingness to obtain)
