Key Responsibilities

• Payment Posting: Accurately post cosmetic and insurance payments (ERAs/EOBs) and patient payments to accounts in a timely manner.

• On-Site Patient Assistance: Provide exceptional in-person customer service to walk-in patients (and via phone), answering questions regarding statements, balances, copays, deductibles, and payment options.

• Denials & Appeals: Investigate, correct, and appeal denied or unpaid insurance claims (including dermatology-specific procedures and biopsy billing) to ensure maximum reimbursement.

• Patient Statements & Collections: Process monthly patient statements, manage past-due balances, establish payment plans, and carry out respectful collection efforts according to practice guidelines.

• Account Reconciliation: Audit accounts for accuracy, resolve balance discrepancies, and apply necessary fee schedule adjustments.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of out patient medical office administrative experience.

• EMR Software: Experience with Modernizing Medicine (modmed / EMA) is helpful but not required.

• Work Location: Must be able to work 100% on-site during regular business hours (not a hybrid or remote role).

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of CPT, ICD-10 coding, EOB/ERA analysis, deductibles, coinsurance, and HIPAA regulations.
