KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is seeking full-time, salaried Sr. Guest Educators who are passionate about education and working toward becoming fully certified teachers in Florida.
This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers and experienced educators who are actively working toward their Florida teaching certification and want to be in the classroom while completing their certification requirements.
The Sr. Guest Educator role may be a great fit for educators who are:
- Working toward obtaining a Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) teaching certificate
- Holding a certification with a subject-area, ESOL, or Reading flag that they are actively working to clear
- Completing coursework, certification assessments, or other requirements needed for their professional certificate
- Looking for a way to continue teaching and gaining classroom experience while completing their certification pathway
Sr. Guest Educators are expected to carry out the responsibilities of a classroom teacher, including:
- Serve as the classroom teacher for an assigned grade level and/or subject area
- Prepare and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction
- Maintain high expectations for student achievement, engagement, and behavior
- Establish a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student learning and adjust instruction to meet student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, and support staff
- Communicate effectively with the school team to ensure consistency and a smooth experience for students
- Carry out all responsibilities expected of a full-time classroom teacher
Once you obtain your Florida teaching certification or Statement of Eligibility (SOE) from FLDOE, you will be eligible for promotion to a Lead Teacher position.

- Starting salary for full-time Sr. Guest Educator: $45,000

*The salary offered in the DocuSign doesn’t include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. In our first year of paying out millage stipends, non-certified New-to-KIPP staff received an additional $3700. There are other opportunities to earn money at KIPP Jax in the form of additional stipends.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree
- Clear path to obtaining a Florida Teaching Certificate
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field
