This position reports to:
Field Service Manager

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations.
The work model for the role is remote. #LI-Remote
This role is contributing to the Automation, Marine & Ports Division, and can be located in either Miramar, FL or Houston, TX.
Your role and responsibilities
- Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
- Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
- Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
- Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
Our team dynamics
Qualifications for the role:
- Associate’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in engineering or other technical field and minimum 2 years of experience in marine filed service. Alternately a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
- Must be capable and comfortable working within confined spaces to include but not limited to vessels, propulsion systems, Cofferdams, etc.
- Up to 85% travel required (domestic and international, includes weekends and holidays).
- Bachelor’s degree Marine, Mechanical, Electrical engineering, or similar field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in the marine field service preferred.
- Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures preferred.
- Familiarity with shipyard dry docking activities preferred.
- Knowledge of marine propulsion, power generation and power distribution preferred.
- Knowledge of marine steering systems (hydraulic & electrical) preferred.
- Experience with confine space entry, work environment preferred.
- Must be able to read, interpret, and design technical drawings and schematics utilizing computer design software
