The Receiving/Inventory Supervisor is focused on receiving metal products from vendors, contractors, service centers and reports to the Warehouse Manager.

This role is perfect for an individual who has attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency), strong work ethic/reliability, and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Receiving and Inventory departments, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise warehouse receiving staff and daily dock operations to ensure materials are received accurately, inspected, labeled, and stored correctly and efficiently. Coordinate inbound shipments and workflow to support inventory accuracy, space utilization, and timely replenishment to production or storage locations.
  • Lead the inventory team, establish inventory policies, and collaborate with other departments to align inventory with production schedules while driving continuous improvement initiatives and inventory strategies that support overall business goals.
  • Manage the inventory cycle count program to maintain an inventory accuracy goal of 95% or higher, regularly inspecting inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses while ensuring customer demand is met.
  • Monitor attendance and approve timekeeping records, ensuring warehouse employees are properly trained on material handling equipment, warehouse systems, inventory control, and safety procedures.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, inventory discrepancies, and maintenance needs, while conducting performance evaluations and supporting hiring, training, coaching, and corrective actions in accordance with company and warehouse policies.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and the drive to meet goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities, including handling employee relations.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, safety procedures, and fundamental budgeting or expense control.
