AECOM is recruiting talented individuals to lead our Industrial Engineering team across multiple regions and offices.
Reporting to a Market Sector Leader or Industrial Principal, you will support the delivery of high-value Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial projects, contributing to both technical excellence and commercial success while developing Client relationships and Business development
As the Senior Industrial Engineer, you will develop and deliver a high-performing Process Optimization capability that delivers complex, high-impact projects across a range of Federal and Commercial industries, while embedding Lean thinking and industrial best practice into all aspects of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your expectations will include, but will not be limited to:
- Manage the development of value propositions for process optimization, manufacturing and industrial advisory services
- Develop data-driven insights and translate them into practical, deliverable solutions
- Manage and Deliver projects and workstreams to agreed quality, cost and schedule
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma and industrial engineering techniques to analyze and improve client operations
- Build effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and thought leadership
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AECOM
- Contribute to the development of best practice methods and standards
- Support capability development through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing
- This role will include travel across the United States, as well as internationally as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline plus 8 years of related experience, or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Due to the nature of the role, United States Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Professional memberships and/or certifications will be beneficial
- 15 years overall industry experience, with 3-5 years of role-specific experience
- Background in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process improvement, or related operational environments
- Experience working within or alongside highly regulated industries (e.g. defense, aviation, nuclear, infrastructure, manufacturing)
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical, value-driven solutions
- Experience applying Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations
- Experience applying Lean principles in non-manufacturing environments
- Consulting experience in complex project environments is a plus
Additionally, experience in the following areas is preferable:
- Process mapping, analysis and optimization
- Production systems, facility design or industrial operations
- Data analysis and performance improvement
- Project delivery and workstream management
- Automation, robotics or manufacturing systems integration
- Digital manufacturing, simulation or data analytics tools
Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
Travel to client sites will be required across the US and, where necessary, internationally with approximately 15-20% travel.
