This is a 100% remote position, with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the El Dorado Hills, CA or Chicago, IL metro areas.

About the Job
As a Senior SDET on the PAM team, you will architect and build automation systems that validate complex, security-sensitive access workflows across cloud infrastructure, identity providers, and enterprise environments. This role focuses on automation framework design, CI/CD integration, and system-level quality, not manual testing or security engineering. You will partner closely with software engineers, product teams, and security stakeholders to ensure PAM features are reliable, scalable, and automation-ready from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for PAM workflows
- Build reusable automation libraries for API, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Develop automation for privileged access workflows including credential rotation, access provisioning, and session management
- Automate authentication and identity flows such as OAuth, SAML, and SSO
- Validate access workflows across protocols such as SSH, RDP, and similar mechanisms
- Build and maintain automation for backend services, APIs, and cloud-hosted systems
- Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools
- Manage containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Investigate automation failures, perform root-cause analysis, and improve long-term stability
- Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Security, and Product teams to embed testability into system design
- Contribute to quality engineering standards and automation best practices across the organization
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to support test development, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in test automation, quality engineering, or software development in test
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Proven experience designing and building automation frameworks or test systems
- Hands-on experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright or Pytest
- Strong experience testing APIs, distributed systems, and security-sensitive workflows
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with containerized or cloud-native environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Understanding of authentication and identity concepts such as OAuth, SAML, and identity providers
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system interactions and automation failures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence quality practices across teams
- Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted tools effectively to improve test automation, debugging, technical analysis, and documentation
- Due to this role’s involvement with FedRAMP compliance requirements, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Person
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing privileged access management or identity-centric security products
- Familiarity with cloud or security automation frameworks
- Exposure to remote access protocols such as SSH, RDP, and VNC
- Experience contributing to automation metrics or observability systems

- Retention
We keep your data for 24 months from your last application activity, then delete or anonymize it.
