Job Description: SAP Basis Lead with SAP Cloud ALM Experience

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced *SAP Basis Lead with strong SAP Cloud ALM knowledge* to support a large, complex SAP transformation program in Houston. The candidate will provide technical leadership across SAP landscape architecture, system administration, infrastructure readiness, environment management, upgrades, migrations, integrations, security coordination, and operational governance.

The role will work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, SAP functional teams, the system integrator, SAP, and third-party vendors to ensure the SAP landscape is stable, scalable, secure, and aligned with program milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP Basis activities across the transformation lifecycle, including planning, design, build, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
• Define and govern the SAP technical landscape strategy across development, quality, testing, training, pre-production, production, and disaster-recovery environments.
• Support SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, upgrades, system conversions, refreshes, client copies, and transport management.
• Provide technical leadership for SAP HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BTP connectivity, SAP Web Dispatcher, SAProuter, Solution Manager, and related SAP technologies.
• Configure and manage *SAP Cloud ALM* for implementation monitoring, operations, integration monitoring, health monitoring, job monitoring, alerting, and reporting.
• Establish technical monitoring, incident-management, and operational-readiness processes using SAP Cloud ALM.
• Coordinate system provisioning, sizing, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster-recovery activities.
• Manage SAP transport strategy and coordinate releases across multiple workstreams, environments, and implementation partners.
• Support cloud, hybrid, or on-premise SAP infrastructure, depending on the program architecture.
• Ensure technical compliance with enterprise security, audit, segregation-of-duties, access-management, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex SAP technical and performance issues.
• Coordinate SAP EarlyWatch, maintenance planning, support packages, kernel upgrades, HANA revisions, and technical patches.
• Support integration connectivity between SAP and external applications, middleware, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
• Develop cutover plans, technical runbooks, operational procedures, support models, and knowledge-transfer documentation.
• Work with the system integrator and SAP to identify technical risks, dependencies, remediation actions, and escalation paths.
• Drive technical readiness reviews and ensure that environments are available according to program schedules.
• Mentor Basis team members and provide governance over partner-delivered Basis activities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum *12 years of SAP Basis experience*, including technical leadership on large SAP implementation or transformation programs.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA administration.
• Practical experience with *SAP Cloud ALM*, including implementation and operations capabilities.
• Experience configuring monitoring, alerts, integrations, and operational dashboards in SAP Cloud ALM.
• Strong understanding of SAP landscape architecture, system sizing, installations, upgrades, migrations, and system copies.
• Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP Gateway, Web Dispatcher, SAProuter, and transport management.
• Experience supporting complex multi-system and multi-environment SAP landscapes.
• Strong knowledge of system performance, capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery.
• Experience working with cloud-hosted SAP environments such as SAP RISE, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of SAP security dependencies, certificates, single sign-on, connectivity, and network requirements.
• Experience supporting testing cycles, mock cutovers, production cutovers, go-live, and hypercare.
• Ability to coordinate across business, IT, infrastructure, cybersecurity, SAP, and system-integrator teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP RISE with SAP and SAP-managed infrastructure.
• Experience migrating from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM.
• Knowledge of SAP BTP, Cloud Connector, Integration Suite, and identity services.
• Experience with automation tools for SAP system provisioning, monitoring, or operational support.
• Exposure to DevSecOps, release management, automated testing, and CI/CD practices in SAP environments.
• SAP Basis, SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud ALM, or cloud-platform certifications.
• Experience in energy, oil and gas, chemicals, utilities, manufacturing, or similarly complex industries.

Pay: $60.00 - $72.00 per hour
